Yep.  The world’s worst kept secret was announced yesterday with Apple announcing its foray into the tablet market with the oh-so inspired, meticulously thought about…ummmm…iPad. Umm, OK.

All tampon jokes aside however, I did just finish watching the promo video on Apple’s website. Firstly, all the speakers seem like they have just had the best lines of Bolivian available. Waaaaaaaayyyy to overly excited about their new gear. They were foaming from the mouths about this amazing new technology that has never been done before that, well, looks like a giant iPhone and seems to work in the exact same way. Which is OK….just not anything new.

I think the real interesting thing to see in future is how iPad will go against Kindle. Apple are launching a book store, similar to the App store, but will it be as extensive as Amazon’s catalogue?  We will wait and see.

Price tag is accessible starting from around $500 making it only slightly more expensive then the Kindle.

Of course, who am I kidding.  If your an Apple fan then you have already pre-ordered one anyway without any objectivity. I’ll hold out for version 2
